Emerging Business Leaders is a not for profit organization that brings together young, career focused individuals.
 
It is the most effective organization in Edmonton at providing an informal and friendly atmosphere for young business minded people to meet while achieving the perfect amount of structure as a result of high quality presenters.
 
Join some of the most interesting young Edmontonians at Emerging Business Leaders. Meetings take place every third Monday of each month at Accent European Lounge (8223, 104 street) at 8:00pm.
 
As a new organization, started in 2009, we have already attracted a diverse group of successful Edmontonians.

Good patio party last friday! Actually, the Edmonton Fire Marshall thought it was too good.

The next EBL meeting on July 19th (8:00pm at Accent Lounge) will be a great time as well.

Our speaker is one of the most powerful business women in the province, Diane Brickner.

Diane Brickner is the President and CEO of Peace Hills Insurance. She joined the company at its inception and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in 1990. During this time the company has successfully expanded throughout Western Canada and today writes approximately 175 million dollars in written premiums.

Diane has held many positions in the industry and her community, presently she is a member of the Boards of The Property and Casualty Insurance Compensation Corporation, Western Financial Group, NAIT and the Edmonton Eskimo Football team.

Some of the past board positions she has held are:

Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Insurance Bureau of Canada

Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Insurance Institute of Canada

Member of the Board of Governors of Grant MacEwan Community College

Member of the Board of the Insurance Ombudsmen

Member of the Edmonton Police Foundation

In 1992, the Canadian Association of Insurance Women presented Diane with the Insurance Women of the Year award and the Edmonton YWCA awarded her the Woman of Distinction in Business, Management and Profession in 1995. She held the position of the Dr. Allard Chair of Business at MacEwan School of Business during 2008 and was presented the Award of Merit from the Insurance Institute of Canada in 2008.
